AATCC130-2000 Easy decontamination test method

This test mainly measures the ability of fabrics to remove oil stains after washing. During the test, two 38×38cm samples were placed flat on a single layer of AATCC absorbent paper after conditioning the humidity for 4 hours at a temperature of 21±1°C and a relative humidity of 65±2%, and dripped 5 drops with a dropper. (about 0.2ml) corn oil on the surface of the sample, cover the oil stained area with 3×3inch (7.6×7.6cm) cellophane, and then press it on the cellophane paper with a 5.0±0.1lb (2.268±0.045kg) weight and place it for 60± 5s, then remove the weight and discard the cellophane. It should be noted that the oil-stained sample cloths cannot come into contact with each other to transfer stains.

Place the sample in a washing machine within 20 ± 5 minutes after soiling, and wash at a suitable washing temperature according to the material of the sample. When washing, use high water level, add 100±1g of detergent into the washing machine, and put in the washing cloth to make the total load 4.00±0.15lb. The maximum number of sample cloths for each washing machine is 30 pieces for each test. Set the washing machine to the Normal setting and run the test for 12 minutes before completing the test. Take out all wash cloths and sample cloths and put them into the dryer. Set the dryer to Normal setting for 45 minutes or until dry.

Immediately after drying, remove the sample fabric and lay it flat to prevent wrinkles. Then within 4 hours, compare the sample with the rating card (the picture is an AATCC stain removal rating reference card). Each piece of fabric is evaluated twice, and the average of the four results is taken as the final result. The results should be reported by stating which rating card was used, the washing program, the type of oil used, the hardness of the water, the type of wash cloth, the type of detergent and the washing machine and dryer used. The result grade ranges from 1 to 5. The higher the grade, the less oil residue remains, that is, the better the decontamination properties; the smaller the grade, the more oil residue remains, which means the decontamination is poor.
