According to statistics, Donglan County has 1,053 acres of newly planted mulberry gardens this year, and 2,085 acres of low-yield renovated mulberry gardens. The total area of mulberry gardens in the county reaches 52,000 acres. There are 13 silkworm demonstration bases and 52 silkworm co-breeding rooms. The promotion rate of fine sericulture varieties, the co-breeding rate of small silkworms, and the promotion and use rate of checkered clusters all reached 100%; the sericulture industry covers 13,675 households in 129 administrative villages in 14 towns, benefiting 3,035 households and 12,741 people who have been lifted out of poverty. As of the end of September, the county had raised 14 batches of silkworms, distributed 91,820 silkworm seeds, and produced 4614.6 tons of fresh cocoons, with an output value of 236.63 million yuan.
