Anhui Wuwei: Cotton output is basically the same as last year
From October 25th to 28th, Anhui Wuwei Monitoring Station conducted visits and surveys to many local contact points. The survey results show that there will be more rainfall in the local area in 2021, especially in mid-to-late July, which is the critical period for cotton budding and boll formation. Continuous rainfall causes a large number of buds and bolls to fall off, and cotton wadding is affected to a certain extent.
It is understood that some cotton planted in high altitudes grows better, and there are currently 20-25 autumn peaches. If there are no adverse weather effects in the later period, the yield is expected to be 550-600 catties/mu, accounting for 25%; growth For ordinary cotton, there are still 10-15 bolls per plant, and the yield is expected to be 400-450 kilograms per mu, accounting for 45%; for cotton that is affected by rainfall and has poor growth, there are currently 5-10 bolls per plant, and it is expected that The yield per unit area is 350-400 catties/mu, accounting for 30%.
Based on the above situation, the yield of seed cotton per unit area this year is about 430 catties/mu, which is 120 catties/mu less than expected and basically the same as the output per mu in 2020. So far, the local new cotton picking progress has reached 65%. Because the sales price of seed cotton this year is relatively high, cotton farmers are actively selling.
