Jinggang Company of Jiangxi Silkworm Tea Research Institute successfully completed the 2021 artificial feed breeding test for small silkworms
The artificial feed breeding experiment of small silkworms was undertaken by Jinggang Company of the Jiangxi Silkworm Tea Research Institute (Ganxi Sericulture Comprehensive Experiment Station) and was carried out at the small silkworm factory in Huangxi Village, Xiushui County. The experiment was conducted to raise spring silkworms and mid-autumn silkworms. The test tasks were successfully completed under the careful guidance of technical personnel. After sampling surveys and sample cocoon testing, the test area’s seed yield, cocoon layer rate, vitality rate, and reeling performance indicators such as unwinding rate, cleanliness, cleanliness, and silk yield rate all met the project test design requirements, especially the silk quality. The performance index is significantly higher than that of conventional varieties, and it can produce high-grade white factory silk above 5A.
The experiment and promotion of artificial feed for raising silkworms can solve the problem of insufficient mulberry leaves in spring and autumn, greatly improve production efficiency, reduce labor intensity, and achieve leap-forward development of the sericulture industry.
