The new stage collaborative development forum of the spandex industry was held in Xinxiang
The 2021 China (Xinxiang) High-end Textile Industry Technology Development Conference and the Spandex Industry New Stage Collaborative Development Forum were recently held in Xinxiang City. The meeting discussed topics such as the current market situation of the spandex industry, the level of technological development, and how to promote highquality development in the next stage.
Spandex is currently the most widely used elastic fiber. The spandex industry has developed rapidly during the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” period, with both production capacity and output maintaining an average annual growth rate of approximately 10%, leading the growth rate in the chemical fiber industry. At this stage, the spandex industry is in the best market operating state in recent years and ushering in a “new era.”
Chen Xinwei, president of the China Chemical Fiber Industry Association, said that as consumers have higher and higher requirements for the health and comfort of textiles, the proportion of spandex added to terminal textile products is also increasing. Spandex is no longer just “MSG” in the traditional concept, but has gradually become an indispensable key material in various end products.
The spandex industry has also achieved practical results in cleaner production, upgrading technical equipment and reducing energy consumption per unit of output. For example, the spandex cleaner production evaluation system and national standards for spandex product water intake quotas have been released one after another.
The industry has also made great achievements in technological progress and intelligent manufacturing. Chen Xinwei pointed out that my country’s spandex industry has developed rapidly in recent years, and its manufacturing level has also reached the international advanced level. In particular, the application of 120-end winding has greatly reduced energy consumption and stabilized the quality of spandex. In order to improve the green manufacturing of spandex, Intelligent manufacturing has laid a solid foundation.
Yang Congdeng, chairman of Huafeng Chemical Co., Ltd., said that currently, about 95% of the manufacturers in the spandex industry adopt continuous polymerization technology. Multi-head spinning and high-speed spinning technology are widely used. Three-dimensional warehouses, automatic doffing, automatic Packaging and other automated and intelligent equipment have also been put into use.
So, under the current positive development trend and the continuous implementation of the “dual carbon” strategy and other new market environments, how can the spandex industry achieve new development? Chen Xinwei emphasized that while the spandex industry is developing rapidly, it must also be prepared for danger in times of peace. Enterprises must maintain a clear understanding of the current market situation, continue to develop new varieties even in good times, further improve product quality, and build brands in an all-round way to ensure a certain level of competitiveness under any market conditions.
“In the new stage, the spandex industry must focus on intelligent manufacturing and green manufacturing to promote industrial upgrading, further expand the spandex application market, and create new models and new momentum for the development of the spandex industry.” Chen Xinwei said.
It was announced at the meeting that Xinxiang Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd. is the new president of the Spandex Branch. Song Deshun, the general manager of the company, is appointed as the president of the Spandex Branch; Li Zengjun of the China Chemical Fiber Association is appointed as the executive vice president of the Spandex Branch; Huafeng Chemical Co., Ltd. The company and Yantai TaiheNew Materials Co., Ltd. are the vice-president units; Rong Zhongyu of China Chemical Fiber Association is the secretary-general. It was also announced at the meeting that the China Chemical Fiber Association will cooperate with Xinxiang Chemical Fiber and Zhengzhou COSCO Spandex Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. to jointly build a “research and production base for fine denier and ultra-fine denier differential spandex” and an “engineering technology innovation and development base for the spandex industry.”
