China’s western region’s textile and apparel exports grew rapidly in the first three quarters of this year
The China Textile Industry Federation disclosed on the 19th that from January to September this year, China’s western region’s exportsTextiles and apparel are growing rapidly, and exports from the eastern region are advancing steadily.
According to estimates, from January to September, China’s western region exported US$12.37 billion in textiles and clothing, a year-on-year increase of 23.9%, accounting for 5.4% of China’s textile and clothing export market; the eastern region exported US$196.41 billion, a year-on-year increase of 6.4%, accounting for 5.4% of China’s textile and clothing export market. The textile and apparel export market accounted for 86.2%; the exports of the central region were US$16.06 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 8.8%; the exports of the three northeastern provinces were US$3.04 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 5.5%.
Looking at the top five exporting provinces and cities, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong, and Fujian exported textiles and clothing at a faster rate than the national average, while Guangdong Province experienced negative export growth. From January to September, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Shandong and Fujian exported textiles and clothing of US$59.67 billion, US$37.24 billion, US$33.87 billion, US$22.47 billion and US$20.02 billion respectively, up 13.5%, 7.9% and -8.8% respectively year-on-year. , 19.4% and 27.4%.
From January to September, although the proportion of textile and apparel exports in the central and western regions was relatively small, the growth rate in four provinces and cities more than doubled. Among them, the growth of textile and clothing exports in Ningxia, Shanxi, Tibet and Qinghai reached 302.3%, 203.3%, 116.2% and 105.4% respectively.
