The 4th “Bayu Craftsman” Cup Chongqing Sericulture Industry Vocational Skills Competition was held in Beibei
In order to further stimulate the enthusiasm of practitioners in the city’s sericulture industry to learn skills and innovate techniques, recently, the 4th “Bayu” was jointly sponsored by the Chongqing Municipal Commerce Commission, the Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions. The Artisan Cup Chongqing Sericulture Industry Vocational Skills Competition was held at the Chongqing Sericulture Science and Technology Research Institute in Beibei District. More than 100 sericulture workers from more than 20 units in the city’s sericulture industry competed on the same stage to compete in skills.
According to reports, this vocational skills competition has three competition items: sericulture food production, sericulture handicraft production, and mulberry potting and maintenance. Among them, the sericulture food production competition requires each group of contestants to use sericulture food raw materials provided by the organizing committee. Unified ingredients and kitchen utensils were used to cook sericulture specialties according to standardized procedures. On the competition field, the contestants cut vegetables with knives and flipped pots and spoons. In the sericulture handicraft production competition, contestants need to use sericulture culture as the basis for different silkworm and mulberry theme materials and other auxiliary materials provided by the organizing committee, such as mulberry leaves, mulberry branches, mulberry roots, silkworm cocoons, and mulberries. Create according to the theme and produce creative handicrafts that conform to the characteristics of sericulture culture. The judges will score each work based on multiple considerations such as creativity, level, and comprehensive social benefits. While competing on skills, they will also actively explore new models for the development of the sericulture industry.
