At the finals, 31 groups of shortlisted works were displayed live. Jiangsu is a province with a major textile and clothing industry, and the textile industry has maintained a trillion-dollar scale for many years. In order to increase the added value of products and help more original designs stand at the top of the industry, Jiangsu has long focused on design strength. Since 1999, Jiangsu has continuously held various textile and clothing designer competitions. Since the start of the competition in January this year, the event has received strong support from the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, the Nantong Municipal Education Bureau, the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and relevant institutions, and has now been recognized by the Jiangsu Provincial Education Association. It is a “provincial competition” and recognized as a “provincial second-class competition” by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security.
With the theme of “Oriental Impression”, this competition received a total of 872 works from 34 professional colleges and universities in the province. On May 25, Jiangsu Textile Industry Association and Jiangsu Textile and Garment Vocational Education Industry Steering Committee organized experts to carefully select the works, and 31 design works were selected to enter the finals. Universities from countries along the Belt and Road also actively participated in the competition, among which design works from universities in Thailand and Uzbekistan entered the finals.
This event also invited 5 highly influential experts in the fashion design industry to form an expert judging panel to score the shortlisted works. In the end, after fierce competition, 2 groups of gold awards, 4 groups of silver awards, 6 groups of bronze awards, as well as 4 groups of excellent collocation awards, 4 groups of excellent creativity awards, and 5 groups of excellent craftsmanship awards were produced. At the same time, the competition also commended the textile and clothing colleges and instructors in the province that actively organized the competition, and awarded the Outstanding Organization Award and the Best Instructor Award.
It is worth mentioning that in order to promote the cultivation of fashion creative talents, enhance the soft power of the industry, and at the same time create a strong atmosphere that is led by competitions and promote the extensive and in-depth development of large-scale vocational training activities, and promote the high level of skilled talent teamsQualitydevelopment, on the afternoon of December 10, the Executive Steering Committee also held a special theoretical and practical examination for this competition to encourage young students to develop in an all-round way and to demonstrate the skill level of students from various colleges and universities in Jiangsu.
