Alar, Xinjiang: Cotton planting drives cotton farmers to get rich
As the harvest of machine-picked cotton in Xinjiang is gradually coming to an end, cotton farmer Abdu Kerim Kader of Alar City, the first division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, is inspecting the machine-picked situation in his cotton field.
In recent years, through cotton planting, the life of Abdul Kerim Kader’s family has become better and better. It has become normal to drive a car to work in the fields.
It is understood that the cotton farmer is a local expert in agricultural machinery. In addition to managing his 80 acres of cotton field, he also uses his free time to drive tractors for others. Only during the spring plowing and sowing period in 2021, he will drive rake and seeder for others. I earned more than 10,000 yuan.
The cotton industry is the pillar industry of the Xinjiang Corps’ agriculture, and the main income of most agricultural workers comes from cotton. Today, with the promotion of mechanization of the entire cotton process, manual picking of cotton has become a thing of the past.
Walking into Abdul Kerim Kader’s home of more than 90 square meters, the house is newly decorated, with complete household appliances, water, electricity, heating and other supporting facilities. The family sat in front of the TV and had fun.
