Winner Medical and Wuhan Textile University jointly established an innovation research institute

On December 27, Winner Medical and Wuhan Textile University jointly established an Innovation Research Institute in Han. Xu Weilin, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and president of Wuhan Textile University, was appointed as the director of the Innovation Research Institute.

Li Jianquan, a 1978 alumnus of Wuhan Textile University and chairman of Winner Medical, said that the establishment of the institute can provide a broader space for development for both the school and enterprises in future research on innovations such as the technology and application direction of basic materials.

At the Third World Health Expo held in Wuhan on April 8 this year, Wenwen Medical signed an industry-university-research-school-enterprise cooperation project with Wuhan Textile University, which became one of the many important results of the expo. The establishment of the institute represents the formal implementation of the contracted project.

It is reported that as the president unit of the China Medical Dressing Industry Association for many consecutive years, Wenwen Medical provides the world’s leading wound care and infection protection solutions to medical units. Its products have entered more than 3,000 hospitals and more than 90,000 pharmacies. In the international market, it is exported to more than 110 countries and regions around the world, and has established long-term and stable cooperation with many international benchmark companies.

After more than 60 years, Wuhan Textile University has become a general institution of higher learning with coordinated development of science, engineering, liberal arts, economics, management, art and other disciplines, with distinctive characteristics and outstanding advantages. Textile science and engineering have been selected as “Hubei Province” Domestic first-class discipline construction discipline.”

At this stage, the country is vigorously developing a circular economy and promoting carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. Compared with chemical fibers, the biggest advantage of cotton fiber is that it comes from nature and degrades in nature. Academician Xu Weilin said that the future development goals and motivations of Winner Medical and Wuhan Textile University Innovation Research Institute are to make cotton generate greater value and better promote innovation in the textile field.
