Copyright empowerment promotes high-quality development of Shengze textile enterprises
Fabric pattern has always been the most competitive core element in the textile industry chain. How to make fabric pattern become its core competitiveness? Suzhou Shiyao Textile Co., Ltd. located in Shengzedong Textile City gave its own answer.
Since its establishment in 2016, the company has successfully applied for more than 150 fabric pattern copyrights, which has also become a strong backing for the company’s high quality development.
When you walk into Suzhou Shiyao Textile Co., Ltd., in addition to the various pattern fabrics, you will be attracted by the certificates on two walls. These are the copyright certificates of the fabric patterns.
Talking about these certificates, Lei Guixiang, general manager of Shiyao Textile, is very proud. He said: “Behind each certificate is the wisdom, inspiration and sweat of our R&D team.” Shiyao Textile mainly producesPolyester home textile fabrics use distinctive patterns as their selling points. Applying for fabric pattern copyright is the most powerful protection for their creative achievements.
Can plagiarism be prevented by applying for copyright? The answer is no, but copyright will provide a legal basis for companies to protect their rights.
In the course of its operations, Shiyao Textile has encountered plagiarism from other companies many times. According to Lei Guixiang, the company successfully resolved an infringement incident through legal channels last year. “They directly copied one of our popular patterns. After we discovered it, we tried to mediate for the first time, but they continued to copy. After the second discovery, we resolutely took legal action. Finally, The court ordered the other party to destroy the infringing items and pay Shiyao Textile RMB 100,000.”
Shiyao Textile is just the epitome of copyright work carried out in Shengzedong Textile City. In recent years, as a copyright demonstration park in Jiangsu Province, Shengze East Textile City has established a complete copyright management system, designated dedicated personnel to be responsible for copyright work, and carried out regular copyright training. Copyright awareness has increased year by year. “Because there are many companies settled in the industry, we promote our copyright application to merchants through daily activities, such as matchmaking meetings and exhibitions, including the static exhibitions we set up in the venue, and enhance their knowledge of Maintenance of property rights.” said a staff member at the Copyright Workstation of Shengzedong Textile City.
At present, there are 780 enterprises gathered in Dongfang City, with many national, provincial and municipal copyright demonstration units. Among them, Taihu Snow was awarded the Copyright Demonstration Unit of Jiangsu Province in 2016, and Sang Shang won the Suzhou Copyright Demonstration Unit Project in 2018. The project was established, and Shangjiukai was awarded the Jiangsu Provincial Copyright Demonstration Unit in 2018 and the National Copyright Demonstration Unit in 2020. As of November 2021, the Shengze East Textile City Copyright Workstation has newly discovered about 16 companies with copyright application needs, and a total of 4,248 applications have been submitted. It is worth noting that Shangjiukai, Taihuxue, HuajiaSilk is a key cultivation project for the industrial transformation of outstanding copyrighted works in 2021.
Relevant staff said that in the future, Shengzedong Textile City Copyright Workstation will further improve the copyright service system and serve merchants with higher quality. “As it is inconvenient for some companies to come to their homes for consultation, next year we will consider going door-to-door to publicize copyright knowledge to them and inform them of the specific application process and operation methods. If it is really inconvenient for some companies, we will also provide application services on their behalf. ”
