Alar: New cotton processing is coming to an end, and the completion rate of cotton enterprises has reached 80%
As of January 20, Xinjiang’s cotton inspection volume has reached 5.0365 million tons, and the processing volume has reached 5.135 million tons. Up to now, 80% of the cotton enterprises in Xinjiang have completed the processing of lint, and the remaining enterprises with large purchase volumes are expected to complete the processing after the year.
A cotton company in Alar said that this year the company purchased about 35,000 tons of seed cotton, with a processing cost of 23,000-24,000 yuan/ton. Affected by the recent rise in U.S. cotton and crude oil prices, most local cotton companies are optimistic about the market outlook. They plan to wait and see cotton before the holiday, and then sell according to market conditions after the holiday. As the Spring Festival holiday is approaching, the cotton ginnery plans to have a holiday before January 28.
