The full-age artificial feed breeding test of silkworms at the Silkworm Breeding Base in Hongdu Town, Xincheng, Guangxi was successful
Rural revitalization puts industry first. On January 26, the ongoing trial of full-age artificial feed breeding of silkworms at the Silkworm Breeding Base in Hongdu Town, Xincheng County, Guangxi Province successfully “fruited” and harvested a batch of snow-white cocoons. This is the first project in rural Guangxi that has been successful in carrying out this project in winter.
According to professional and technical personnel, the Laibin Academy of Agricultural Sciences began to study silkworm artificial feed breeding in 2017. With the support of the National Sericulture Technology System and the Autonomous Region Sericulture Research Institute, it launched low-cost research on silkworm artificial feed breeding technology. This technology was successfully moved from the laboratory to Xincheng County in 2021
The base has introduced equipment such as the patented product “Silkworm Wet Feed Slicing Feeder” and “Intelligent Environmental Control System” independently developed by the Laibin Academy of Agricultural Sciences Joint Enterprise to “arm” the silkworm room with mulberry leaves, soybean meal, corn flour and other The ingredients are mixed to make powdered artificial feed, which is then sliced and fed after cooking. Silkworms only need to be fed 9 to 10 times during their growth cycle, which reduces the cost of raising silkworms and saves more than 70% of labor. This allows silkworm farmers to raise silkworms every month and have harvests every season, and the breeding efficiency has been greatly improved. .
It is reported that the silkworm breeding base in Hongdu Town, Xincheng County will introduce 4 new varieties of feed-bred silkworms in 2021. The total number of artificial feed silkworms raised throughout the year exceeds 1,000, and the batch feed volume exceeds 200. It is the first in the country to A moderately large-scale demonstration base for the co-breeding of silkworms with artificial feed for silkworms. Small silkworms are raised in a sterile environment, and there is no need to disinfect the silkworm body and silkworm seats every day. This saves labor and can effectively reduce the chance of contact between pathogens and silkworms, significantly reducing the occurrence of silkworm diseases. The successful harvesting of silkworm cocoons for all-age artificial feed feeding in winter broke the seasonal restrictions and achieved the expected goal of raising silkworms all year round.
According to reports, Laibin City will continue to explore the feeding of mulberry silkworms with artificial feed for all ages, realize the artificial feed breeding of silkworms, and make the sericulture industry mechanized, large-scale and labor-savingTransformation and Upgrading , improve the quality and efficiency of sericulture, so that sericulture is no longer limited by season and scale, and can be cultivated year-round and in a factory.
