National yarn export overview
According to China Customs statistics, the national yarn import and export volume in 2015 was 7.016 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.7%; the import and export volume was US$19.9 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 5.1%. Among them, the export quantity was 4.017 million tons, an increase of 0.5%; the export value was US$11 billion, a decrease of 8.8%; the average export unit price was US$2.74/kg, a year-on-year decrease of 9.2%. The import quantity was 2.998 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 11.1%; the import value was US$8.89 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 0.2%; the average import unit price was US$2.96/kg, a year-on-year decrease of 10.1%.

In December, the number of yarn exports was 381,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 14.7%; the export value was US$950 million, a year-on-year decrease of 1.4%. Among them, the export of wool animal hair yarn was 90 million, a year-on-year increase of 30.3%. The export value of silk thread, cotton yarn and chemical fiber yarn was US$100 million, 130 million and 610 million US dollars respectively, down 21.6%, 11.1% and 9.7% respectively.

In 2015, China’s yarn exports to Hong Kong were US$1.53 billion, a decrease of 10.9%. Exports to South Asian countries Pakistan and India declined, with export amounts of US$550 million and US$520 million respectively, down 1.4% and 13.2% year-on-year respectively. Exports to the West Asian country Saudi Arabia increased the most, reaching US$100 million, an increase of 29.2%.
In 2015, China’s yarn exports to Japan were US$390 million, a decrease of 5.2%. Exports to North America were US$600 million, down 0.8%. Exports to the EU and Latin America were US$1.12 billion and US$630 million, down 20.9% and 13.7% respectively.
3. The export unit price of cotton yarn, wool, animal hair yarn has increased, while the export unit price of silk thread and chemical fiber yarn has decreased.
In 2015, the export unit prices of cotton yarn and wool animal hair yarn increased, reaching US$4.86/kg and US$30.6/kg respectively, an increase of 1.5% and 0.3% respectively; the export unit prices of silk yarn and chemical fiber yarn were respectively The prices were US$38.6/kg and US$2.46/kg, down 7.2% and 12.2% respectively.
