EU issues consumer warning on Chinese-made children’s jackets
On February 12, 2016, the European Commission’s Rapid Alert System for Non-Food Products (RAPEX) issued a consumer warning on Chinese-made “ATIVO” brand children’s jackets. The notifying country in this case is Slovenia. The product notified this time is a hooded children’s jacket, which is suitable for children aged 1 year. The style/model of the above product is: AD021. The barcode is 2800260218614. The product’s industry classification code (OECD Portal Category) is 67000000 (clothing).
The above-mentioned children’s jackets may pose a suffocation hazard to children. The jacket has an adjustable drawstring on the hood, which can easily trap children during activities, posing a suffocation hazard. This product does not comply with the relevant European standard EN14682.
Currently, importers have taken measures to voluntarily withdraw the above products from the market.
To this end, it is recommended that relevant domestic production and export enterprises attach great importance to this. EU issues consumer warning on Chinese-made children’s jackets
