-National yarn export overview
According to China Customs statistics, the national yarn import and export volume from January to February 2016 was 990,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.5%; the import and export volume was US$2.54 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 18.9%. Among them, the export value was US$1.55 billion, down 15.4%; the average export unit price was US$2.45/kg, down 17.7% year-on-year. The import value was US$1 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 23.8%; the average import unit price was US$2.77/kg, a year-on-year decrease of 7.7%.
In January and February, the export value of wool animal hair yarn increased, while the export value of silk thread, cotton yarn and chemical fiber yarn decreased.
The export value of wool animal hair yarn increased, reaching 70 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 7.7%. Among them, silk thread exports declined most significantly, with an export value of US$11.43 million, a year-on-year decrease of 33.3%; cotton yarn and chemical fiber yarn export values were US$85 million and US$440 million, respectively, a decrease of 24% and 19%.
2. In February 2016, exports to North America, ASEAN, Japan, the European Union, and Latin America all declined.
In February 2016, the Asian market accounted for 67.5% of my country’s yarn exports, with export value reaching US$1.04 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 14.8%. Exports to major Asian countries have declined. Exports to ASEAN declined, by 11.5%. Exports to Vietnam and Bangladesh declined to varying degrees, with exports of US$110 million and US$140 million respectively, down 8.3% and 10.7% respectively.
In February, China’s yarn exports to Hong Kong were US$160 million, a decrease of 30.2%. Exports to the South Asian country Pakistan declined, reaching US$80 million, a decrease of 9.4%; exports to India declined, with exports amounting to US$70 million, a year-on-year decrease of 18.8%.
In February, China’s yarn exports to Japan were US$60 million, a decrease of 17.1%. Exports to North America were US$80 million, down 22.1%. Exports to the EU and Latin America were US$170 million and US$80 million, down 7.7% and 25.5% respectively. Among them, exports to EU country Portugal increased, with an increase of 5.9%.
3. The export unit price of wool animal hair yarn has increased, while the export unit price of cotton yarn, silk thread and chemical fiber yarn has decreased.
In February 2016, wool animal hair yarn was US$32.4/kg, an increase of 10.36%. The export unit prices of cotton yarn, silk yarn and chemical fiber yarn were US$4.63/kg, US$37.07/kg and US$2.17/kg respectively, down 2.46%, 10.1% and 19.5% respectively.
