EU issues consumer warning on Chinese baby clothes
On April 8, 2016, the European Commission’s Rapid Alert System for Non-Food Products (RAPEX) issued a consumer warning on baby clothing produced in China called “Lindexbaby”. The notifying country in this case is Sweden. The products notified this time are baby clothing, a pink vest jacket with a fur decorative cover. There is a small bow on the front of the vest. The style/model number of the product is: 7233167. The product’s industry classification code (OECD Portal Category) is 67000000 – Clothing.
The fasteners on the above-mentioned baby clothing vests may fall off and be put into the child’s mouth, causing suffocation.
Currently, importers have taken voluntary withdrawal from the market and recall measures for the above products.
