Türkiye’s textile industry is one of the top countries in the world
Turkey is the center of the global textile and garment industry and the EU’s second largest source of supply.
Exports of knitted garments account for approximately 4% of the global market, ranking fifth among all exporting countries.
The export market share of plain woven garments is 2.8%, ranking ninth in the world.
Türkiye’s textile industry is one of the top 10 countries in the world.
In 2015, Turkey’s textile and garment exports totaled US$26.4 billion, down 10% from the previous year. There are approximately 16,000 Turkish textile and garment export manufacturers, mostly concentrated in Istanbul, Izmir, Denizli, Bursa, Kahramanmaras and Gaziantep areas.
