-National yarn export overview
According to China Customs statistics, the national yarn import and export volume from January to April 2016 was US$5.86 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 14.2%. Among them, the export value was US$3.53 billion, down 5.8%; the decline narrowed. The average export unit price was US$2.47/kg, down 14.3% year-on-year. The import value was US$2.33 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 24.4%; the average import unit price was US$2.83/kg, a year-on-year decrease of 5.5%.
1. In April, the export value of wool, animal hair yarn and chemical fiber yarn increased, while the export value of silk thread and cotton yarn decreased.
The export value of wool, animal hair yarn and chemical fiber yarn increased, reaching US$130 million and US$650 million, a year-on-year increase of 7% and 1.7%. Exports to the EU increased, with exports amounting to US$380 million, an increase of 3.5%, continuing the growth since last month and worthy of attention. Exports to North America declined, with export value reaching US$180 million, a decrease of 17.8%. Exports to Latin America fell by 1.5%.
3. Among the major exporting provinces and cities, Sichuan’s exports have increased.
Coastal provinces are the main force in yarn exports. Among the top ten export provinces and cities from January to April, only Sichuan showed growth, with an increase of 17.4%. Seven provinces and cities exported more than 100 million US dollars.

The recent price inversion of imported yarn has also caused trouble to domestic traders. Coupled with the Federal Reserve raising interest rates, the risk of RMB exchange rate depreciation is increasing.
Whether the cotton yarn market can reverse after a long-term bear market depends on whether downstream demand picks up.
On the contrary, with the further decline of the exchange rate, the oversupply situation of cotton and cotton yarn will exist for a long time, and the risks of yarn procurement and sales will become greater and greater. The market outlook is worrying. It is recommended to reduce inventory and buy as you need.
