Vietnam becomes South Korea’s largest apparel export market
According to a report by South Korea’s “Economic Daily” on June 10, the “Korea Clothing Export Trends in the Past Five Years” report released by South Korea Customs showed that South Korea’s clothing exports last year were US$1.941 billion, a decrease of 4.5% from the previous year. Among them, exports to Vietnam were US$382 million, surpassing China for the first time and becoming South Korea’s largest apparel export market. Exports to China were US$372 million, followed by Japan (US$365 million) and the United States (US$265 million). According to the report, the rapid growth of investment by Korean garment manufacturers in Vietnam has boosted Korean garment exports to Vietnam.
