International Textile Federation: Global gauze production and sales statistics in the first quarter

According to statistics from the International Textile Federation (ITMF), in the first quarter of this year, global yarn production increased by 20% compared with the previous quarter, Asian production increased by 21%, South American production increased by 29%, and European production decreased by 4%.

Compared with the first quarter of 2015, global yarn production increased by 4% in the first quarter of this year, with Asia and Europe increasing by 5% and 4% respectively. However, global yarn inventories fell by 5% in the first quarter of this year, with Asia and South America falling by 6% and 1% respectively, while other regions remained stable. Year-on-year, global yarn inventories increased by nearly 3% in the first quarter of this year.

In the first quarter of this year, global cloth production fell by more than 8% compared with the previous quarter, with Asia and Europe falling by more than 10% and 2% respectively, and South American production increasing by 31%. Year-on-year, global cloth production remained unchanged in the first quarter of this year, with Asian production stable, South American production falling by nearly 21%, and European production increasing by approximately 9%.

In the first quarter of this year, global cloth inventories increased moderately from the previous quarter. Asian inventories fell by less than 1%, South America increased by more than 2%, and global cloth inventories remained unchanged year-on-year.

In the first quarter of this year, European yarn orders increased by 0.5% month-on-month and 3% year-on-year. Orders in South America increased by more than 100% month-on-month and 22% year-on-year. European cloth orders fell by 2% month-on-month and 4% year-on-year. South American cloth orders increased by nearly 5% month-on-month and fell 23% year-on-year.
