NPE is widely used in cleaning, dyeing and washing processes in the textile production process. It is the most commonly used detergent and dyeing auxiliary in the textile and apparel industry, accounting for more than 80% of my country’s market share.
The American Textile, Apparel and Footwear Association recently released the 17th edition of the Restricted Substances List (RSL), which lists 12 categories of more than 250 substances that are banned or restricted for use in clothing, footwear and finished home textile products. Leather has been added to the list. The formaldehyde testing method will affect the export of leather shoes and leather clothing materials in our province.
Textiles and clothing are important export products of Fujian Province. From January to April, the total value of textile and clothing products exported by Fujian Province was US$165.7 billion. Experts from the Fujian Inspection and Quarantine Bureau said that the new regulations introduced by the European Union and the United States will have a greater impact on clothing, indoor textiles, yarn, and weaving manufacturing enterprises in Fujian Province. To this end, the Fujian Inspection and Quarantine Bureau will guide and support garment export enterprises in the jurisdiction to pay attention to the implementation of EU NPE regulations and master the detailed provisions of the regulations. At the same time, NPE content testing of raw materials and finished products will be strengthened to avoid products exported to the EU exceeding the limit requirements.
