According to Chinese customs statistics, from January to June, my country’s yarn imports were US$3.55 billion, down 23% year-on-year, of which 2/3 were cotton yarn imports, with an import value of US$2.43 billion, down 26.4%. Import volume fell by 25.9% in January, with a smaller base in the same period last year. In February, it fell by 6.6%. In March and April, it fell by 23%. In May, the decline narrowed to 7.3%. In June, it fell by 17.7%, with imports of 159,000 tons. The unit price of cotton yarn imports continues to decline, with the average price from January to June being US$2.53/kg, a year-on-year decrease of nearly 10 percentage points.
2. The growth rate of Vietnam’s yarn imports has narrowed.
my country’s cotton yarn market has long been impacted by low-count yarns from Pakistan and medium- and high-count yarns from India, Vietnam, and Indonesia. In recent years, a large number of companies have invested in yarn mills in Vietnam. my country’s cotton yarn imports from Vietnam have continued to grow. From the end of last year to the beginning of the year, the growth rate has narrowed significantly. From March to May, it returned strongly, with the growth rate reaching more than 20%. In June, it narrowed to 9.6%. At present, Vietnam is my country’s largest import source of cotton yarn, with a total import of 279,000 tons from January to June, a year-on-year increase of 16.6%, accounting for 29% of the total cotton yarn imports, and the proportion has increased. Imports from India have experienced negative growth since December last year. In the first six months of this year, 232,000 tons of cotton yarn were imported, down 33.2% from the same period last year, accounting for 1/4 of total imports; imports from Pakistan began to decline in October last year, 1 -The import volume in June was 188,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 36%.
Among the remaining top ten import source countries, my country’s imports from Malaysia increased by 67%, the United States declined slightly by 1%, Indonesia fell by 11 percentage points, Uzbekistan and South Korea fell by 21% and 32% respectively.
Three. From January to June, only Shandong and Anhui cotton yarn imports increased.
From January to June, the import volume of cotton yarn in the top 10 provinces and cities exceeded 10,000 tons. Among them, Anhui’s imports increased by 8.5 percentage points compared with the same period last year, and Shandong, a major cotton spinning province, increased by 18.3%. It mainly imported Indian yarn and Pakistani yarn, with an import volume of 142,000 tons, ranking third among importing provinces and cities. Guangdong imported 266,000 tons, down 20.1% year-on-year; Zhejiang imported 161,000 tons, ranking second, down 23.8% year-on-year. Shanghai fell by 5.5%, and Jiangsu, Fujian, and Beijing fell by 30%, 16%, and 58% respectively.
The trade mode is mainly general trade, accounting for 77.5% of the total cotton yarn imports, which is 746,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 17.3%; processing trade is supplemented, accounting for 19.3%, and the import volume is 186,000 tons, a decrease of 29.6% compared with the same period last year. , of which 175,000 tons are processed as input.
