At the same time, the machines of a modern textile factory near Dangara City in Tajikistan were roaring, and the high-grade yarn produced here was being continuously shipped to all parts of the world. Cotton plantations and textile mills are both local investment and construction projects by Xinjiang Zhongtai (Group) Co., Ltd. (referred to as Zhongtai Group).

In 2014, in order to implement the “Belt and Road” initiative and the enterprise’s “going global” strategy, Zhongtai Group and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps jointly launched the China-Thailand New Silk Road Tajikistan Agricultural Textile Industrial Park Project, relying on Xinjiang’s years of cotton textile industry, The location, technological advantages, and Tajikistan’s environment, market, and human resources advantages will create a modern cotton industry base in the local area, drive the local cotton industry, and help Tajikistan’s economic development.

In just three years, the industrial park has turned from a blueprint into a reality. At present, three Chinese-funded enterprises, Zhongtai New Silk Road Textile Industry Co., Ltd. (referred to as Zhongtai Textile Factory), Zhongtai Agricultural Industry Co., Ltd., and Jingu Agricultural Company, have settled in, with an investment of 1.1 billion yuan, and have formed an industry for cotton planting, processing and sales. industrial chain.

Xiao Ruixin, chairman of Zhongtai Textile Factory, told reporters that due to the large temperature difference between day and night, the cotton grown in this area has fine fibers, high strength and low sugar content. However, due to backward planting technology, aging agricultural machinery and other reasons, local farmers basically rely on the weather for cotton cultivation, and the yield efficiency is very low. Chinese companies have advantages in cotton planting technology, deep processing and capital. When Zhongtai Group built the local textile industrial park, it took advantage of the advantages of both parties.

Since the establishment of the project, the construction of the industrial park has received strong support from the Tajik government. Tajikistan has provided 220,000 acres and 180,000 acres of land respectively free of charge to Zhongtai Agricultural Industry Co., Ltd. and Jingu Agricultural Company to grow cotton. These lands were once cotton fields and then fell into disuse for a long time. The Chinese company’s cotton planting technology of precise sowing, precise fertilization, and mechanized cotton picking has subverted the local people’s concept of relying on the weather for cotton cultivation. Local farmers have switched to cotton, and the local economy has benefited greatly from the substantial expansion of cotton planting area.

In the cotton gin, a local cotton farmer named Lazoda was extremely happy with a thick wad of banknotes he had just received from selling cotton. He said that local textile factories are small in scale, and manufacturers often issue IOUs when purchasing cotton. However, in the textile factories of Chinese companies, you can get money after selling cotton. Now local people send cotton here.

In the textile factory not far from the ginnery, the spinning wheels are spinning, and the lint shipped from the ginnery is being made into high-grade yarn here. In August this year, the first phase of the Zhongtai Textile Factory’s annual output of 60,000 spindles of yarn was completed and put into operation. Relying on Tajikistan’s high-quality cotton and the advanced equipment of China-Thailand Textile Factory, the high-grade yarn produced here is in short supply, and the products have been ordered before they even come off the production line.

Xiao Ruixin said that Zhongtai Textile Factory is the most advanced in the world from factory building design to main equipment. Zhongtai Textile Factory has improved Tajikistan’s textile equipment level for 30 years. The Zhongtai Textile Factory will also build weaving, printing and dyeing and garment workshops, which will bring 100 million yuan in profits and taxes to the Tajik government every year, provide thousands of local employment opportunities, and will greatly promote local economic development.
