Bangladesh’s apparel exports to the United States increase slightly
According to the “Daily Star” report on November 6, Bangladesh’s apparel exports to the United States from January to September 2016 were US$4.32 billion, a slight increase of 0.32%. Among the top ten apparel import source countries in the United States, only Bangladesh and Vietnam showed growth, while China, India, Pakistan, Mexico and other countries all showed declines. Apparel exporters and market analysts believe that the main reason for the decline in U.S. apparel imports is the U.S. election. Since Bangladesh exports a large amount of clothing to the US market, Bangladesh maintains a trade surplus with the US.
