Pakistan’s blended yarn price increases
Last week (November 10-16), affected by the increase in PTA and MEG prices, the price of polyester staple fiber in Pakistan rose slightly, and the price of blended yarn increased accordingly. Domestic and export market demand was active.
Due to the shortage of cotton supply in Pakistan, the price of cotton has always been higher than that of polyester staple fiber. In order to reduce production costs, Pakistani textile companies have adjusted the polyester-cotton ratio and reduced the use of cotton.
According to statistics, the price of polyester staple fiber in Pakistan rose by 1 rupee/kg last week, an increase of 0.86%, and the prices of polyester-cotton yarn and polyester-viscose yarn both increased by 1 rupee/pound. It is expected that the supply of viscose will stabilize in the next week, the price of polyester and viscose yarn will be reduced, and the price of cotton yarn will remain strong.
