Kazakhstan’s raw cotton output increased slightly
Interfax Shymkent reported on November 29 that the South Kazakhstan Agricultural Administration of Kazakhstan stated that the state’s raw cotton output in 2016 was 281,000 tons, an increase of 2.6% from 273,900 tons in 2015. In 2016, the cotton planting area in Kazakhstan was 109,600 hectares, and the purchase price was the highest in 10 years – 170 tenge/kg. 70-80% of the raw cotton will be exported to Pakistan, China, Turkey, the Middle East, and Russia.
