EU issues consumer warning on Chinese-made children’s jackets
On October 6, 2017, the European Commission’s Rapid Early Warning System for Non-Food Products (RAPEX) issued a consumer warning (alert number: A12/1337/17) for the Chinese-made “JUMP&FISH” brand children’s jackets. The notifying country in this case is Croatia. The products notified this time are children’s jackets. Available in two styles, a brown jacket with gray hood and faux fur lining (sizes 8 and 12); and a red jacket with gray hood and faux fur lining (size 10). The style/model of the product is unknown. Barcode unknown. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development Industry Classification Code (OECD Portal Category) is 67000000 – Clothing.
The drawstring on the hood of the above-mentioned jacket may entangle children during various activities, posing a risk of suffocation to children. This product does not comply with the requirements of European standard EN14682.
Currently, dealers have taken delisting measures for the above products.
