Spring sericulture in Liucheng County, Guangxi is progressing smoothly and has a good start
On March 28-29, 22 small silkworm co-breeding bases in Liucheng County, Guangxi began to collect ants, kicking off sericulture in 2022. Although the temperature in January and February this year was lower than in previous years, the temperature picked up quickly after March. The county agricultural technology department and sericulture science and technology commissioners went to the grassroots to actively guide farmers to manage and protect the mulberry fields. The mulberry fields are currently growing well. Each silkworm co-breeding base has also made careful preparations to strengthen the management of the co-bred mulberry gardens and the disinfection of the small silkworm houses. As of the 29th, 6,800 pieces of ant silkworm seeds have been collected. Ants will be harvested one after another in the near future, and the cocoons are expected to be on the market by the end of April.
