Yuehe Lake Sericulture Garden Project in Weiyuan County, Sichuan Province starts construction
On March 30, at the construction site of the Yuehe Lake Sericulture Garden Project in Weiyuan County, Sichuan Province, workers operated 10 excavators to carry out land leveling operations. At the construction site, the roar of machines continued, creating a busy scene.
Weiyuan County Yuehe Lake Sericulture Garden Project is located in Gaowan Village, Longhui Town. It involves three major functional areas such as sightseeing and leisure, sericulture planting, and village utilization. The total investment is about 20 million yuan, covering a total area of 2,600 acres, and is located in 3 -It will be completed in three phases within 5 years. At present, the first phase of land transfer of 500 acres has been completed, and 400,000 mulberry seedlings have been purchased. The planting is planned to be completed by the end of April. At the same time, 10 standardized large silkworm sheds and 10 small silkworm co-breeding rooms will be built.
Since the project started on March 25, Zhang Zhiying, secretary of the Party branch of Gaowan Village, has been on site every day to “supervise” the progress of the project and understand the land leveling situation. Zhang Zhiying said that the villagers of Gaowan Village have cultivated mulberry and raised silkworms for more than 100 years, but most of them are sporadic and small-scale. The leaves of the mulberry trees planted are small and thin, and their drought resistance is weak.
With the support and help of the town party committee, government and the village work team, successful people were introduced to return to their hometowns to start businesses, and the construction of the Yuehe Lake Sericulture Park project was promoted. After the project is completed, it is expected to create 5,000 jobs for rural surplus labor nearby each year, strengthen the village collective economy, and drive farmers to modernize sericulture and improve mulberry and sericulture technology.
According to the person in charge of Longhui Town, the town’s sericulture industry has a long history and huge potential. In recent years, Longhui Town has been committed to restoring the sericulture industry and promoting modern sericulture technology. The town currently has 7,000 acres of mulberry gardens and 1,200 sericulture households, with an average of more than 10,000 silkworms raised every year, and an output value of more than 26 million yuan in 2021. In the future, the town will use Huzhu Village as the core area to coordinate the construction of the Yuehe Lake Sericulture Garden Group and the Canqingyuan Group. It will form a development unit with a 50-acre mulberry garden, a large silkworm shed, and a small silkworm co-breeding room. With multiple layouts in the park, sericulture breeding will be revitalized as soon as possible, so that small silkworm cocoons can help more and more farmers open the door to wealth.
