Guangxi Longlin: Silkworm industry broadens the road to wealth

The county has established the Benkang Silkworm High Yield Demonstration Base for Poverty Alleviation in Stony Desert Mountainous Areas in Kechang Township and De’e Town, planting 5,540 acres of mulberry, including 1,640 acres in the core area, covering 2,203 people in 448 households in 9 villages in 2 towns. Every year, 6,400 silkworms are raised, 340,000 kilograms of fresh cocoons are produced, and the annual output value is 17.68 million yuan. The farmers involved have increased their average annual income by more than 22,000 yuan through land transfer, planting mulberry and raising silkworms, and working at the base.

Technical support. Increase the intensity of technical training, invite experts and technicians to provide guidance in the fields, and send small silkworm co-breeders and large farmers to areas with advanced sericulture industry technology in batches for training and learn advanced technologies. Experienced “soil experts” from sericulture producing areas such as Hechi and Yizhou are hired to provide technical guidance in the county, to cultivate local “soil experts” and improve the success rate of breeding.

Policy guarantee. Control the sourcequality and implement a restraint mechanism to ensure that the product quality pass rate cannot be less than 95%. Integrate agriculture-related funds at all levels, Shenzhen counterpart assistance funds, etc. to provide subsidies to farmers to stabilize breeding costs; guide leading enterprises to sign protective price purchase agreements with the government, follow the market on the basis of protective price agreements, and implement government subsidies of 4 yuan /kg policy mechanism to increase the enthusiasm of the general public for breeding. Build a cooperative partnership between enterprises and village collectives, and cultivate the village into a small distribution center for the purchase and sale of sericulture products; in towns (regions) with dispersed industries or remote locations, take the township as a unit and the village as an individual, and form a partnership between village collectives and leading enterprises Partners, act on behalf of enterprises in purchasing and selling activities, and achieve the “three-win” goal of enterprises, village collectives, and farmers.

Extend the chain. Implement the industrial expansion project, take a new path of intensive processing of silk and comprehensive utilization and development of by-products, and add thematic elements of leisure agriculture and sericulture. Innovatively explore the model of “sericulture factory + mulberry feed processing factory + breeding farm”, and implement a 50-acre mulberry picking garden in the demonstration base to conduct diversified operations and improve risk resistance. Efforts were made to build two sericultureindustrial economic belt demonstration bases, and two sericulture economic belts in Kechang, De’e and Longhe, and Mazong were cultivated, and 3,500 acres of newly built mulberry gardens were extended. It has the effect of leading from point to point.
