Hebei’s high-quality cotton full-process green production technical regulations passed the acceptance of the provincial expert group
On April 9, the Technological Innovation special project “Technical Regulations for Green Production of High-Quality Cotton” undertaken by the Cotton Research Institute of the Hebei Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences passed the provincial expert group The acceptance provides efficient and feasible standardized technical support for high-quality, green, highquality and safe production of cotton in Hebei Province.
Cotton is one of the important economic crops in Hebei Province and is mainly distributed in the Heilonggang Basin in central and southern Hebei. In recent years, the cotton planting area in Hebei Province has remained at more than 2 million acres, ranking second in the country after Xinjiang. However, some issues have remained unresolved for a long time. First, the fiber quality of cotton varieties is low, foreign fiber contamination in the planting and harvesting process, and fiber quality loss in the processing process have led to low raw cotton quality and insufficient market competitiveness. The cotton quality cannot meet the needs of spinning medium and high-count yarns. Second, the large amount of chemical fertilizers has caused a decrease in soil fertility, and the large amount and variety of pesticides are not conducive to the green and sustainable development of cotton. In addition, with the shortage of rural labor and rising labor costs year by year, the problem of high input and labor use in cotton production has become a “short board” restricting cotton production.
In order to solve the existing production technology problems in the cotton industry, the “High-Quality Cotton Full-process Green Production Technical Regulations” project undertaken by the Cotton Research Institute of the Provincial Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, on the basis of absorbing existing technological achievements, combined with the technical research results of the cotton industry system in Hebei Province , the latest applied and independently developed technologies in cotton production have been standardized and integrated throughout the entire industry chain, forming a full-process green production technical protocol for high-quality cotton.
This project aims to produce high-quality raw cotton, takes green and efficient fertilizer-saving and pesticide-reducing technology as the core, and regulates the planting management links such as high-quality cotton variety selection, field management, fertilizer and water application, and comprehensive pest and disease control, integrating organic cotton Substituting fertilizers for chemical fertilizers, combined application of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, and green pest and disease prevention and control technologies, the main quality indicators of high-quality cotton, cotton foreign fiber prevention and control measures, and cotton processing quality control indicators are proposed.
Experts believe that the project as a whole has reached the domestic advanced level. The technical route and inputs used meet the requirements for high-quality green production of cotton. The technical regulations are easy to understand and operable. It has good promotion prospects and can be used as an example for Hebei Province. Promote the application of green production technology for high-quality cotton in the province.
