As the temperature continues to rise, cotton planting in Xinjiang is spreading over a large area. In Shaya County, Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang, the mechanization level of cotton planting continues to improve.
Jumai Aisan, 38, has been growing cotton for eight years. As the state’s policies and support for cotton cultivation in Xinjiang continue to increase, the level of mechanization in his cotton fields has also become higher and higher. In 2020, he added 120 acres of his cotton field to the cooperative to achieve large-scale operation and collective development.

When we manage, we use drones to spray pesticides, and when we harvest cotton, we use cotton pickers. With good cotton management this year, the yield per mu is expected to increase by 20 to 30 kilograms.
In 2022, Shaya County plans to plant 1.85 million acres of cotton. So far, more than 2.07 million acres of cotton have been sown in Xinjiang.
